King 6cms in boxwood and ebony -such chessmen are a delight to view on a board of small size. At present there are two similar looking sets for sale out there including one on eBay missing a knight, plus another on the Antique Chessshop. I decided to bid with REAL intent as the set was missing two pawns including one of each colour, however these small quality sets are a delight to snap up as this cutie was damage free. Some collectors out there might believe that these are Jaques sets, yet the quality of the images taken from the surviving Jaques pattern book are simply not good enough to prove such nice quality chessmen to any sceptical buyer, that a hefty premium is fully deserved in my humble opinion. This set is very similar looking when compared to the offerings on the net out there, as the rooks have fine turned rings from the crenellations down to the base.
