20th C. Chinese ivory Staunton chess sets

It is best to avoid buying these ivory tea stained sets with labels ‘Made in Hong Kong’.

Many chess collectors are upset about the proposed ivory ban because it has affected the value of their collections.  It seems to me there is not much information out there offering new collectors what to avoid. There is a very interesting blog which is well worth a look offering advice to new collectors:-

If we collectors are not being seen by the lobby opposing the sale of ivory in the UK, can we expect sympathy from this lobby if we do not appear to be doing anything to advise new collectors on buying these 20th century offerings which are putting the numbers of elephants in peril?  I urge all collectors who have online collections to show pictures of sets to avoid buying.
