Late 19th?/early 20th century Austrian coffee house blind man’s set & board

I was most fortunate when admiring this scarce item owned by an antique dealer over 12 years ago. With a 7cms king and an 11 inch x11 inch board, boardwork extremely well fitted out for the pieces which might be boxwood stained for the black side  – I believe this is a scarce item as I don’t recall seeing another one.

The pieces have little points/nubs on them to enable the blind player to recognise what pieces he/she is playing with, and the lowered squares on the board enable the player to navigate the board.
