An unusual probably Spanish? early 20th century Regence wooden chess set

A recent fresh meat purchase from Madrid this Regence style set made of turned fruit wood appears to be a rather scarce set. I have close to 200 images of Regence sets and there is not a single set amongst them that is identical. the set had no original box , and with a king height of just under 7 cms, ,my favourite pieces being the pawns and rooks.

it is well worth noting that E Bay buying has become far safer than ever before ( psst I have bought a few infected thanks giving turkey items in my early years of collecting) thus it is a real joy when the item arrives to your home and it is even better than expected… yes it happens .My advice take the disappointment on the chin as I have seen many buyers big winners on the internet & auction houses ,this hunting is great fun .Some risk taking is necessary when collecting , if disappointed I often chose to omit feedback where as leaving negative is counter productive and it is possible to make errors when selling, which I have done on occasion, since we are all human after all.
